Cold Laser Therapy

Dr. Kent Carlomagno of Summit Chiropractic and Longevity Center offers cold laser therapy to patients suffering from muscle pain.  Cold laser therapy can be used almost anywhere on the body to relieve pain and promote healing. If you have acute or chronic muscle pain in your neck, back, or shoulders and chiropractic adjustments haven’t helped you, cold laser therapy could be the solution for you.  Patients suffering from sprains, arthritis, and tendonitis are often recommended this treatment because it also helps reduce inflammation.

The laser is a small handheld device placed directly on the skin in the affected area. It uses light to stimulate affected muscle tissue and has the ability to penetrate two to five centimeters below the skin. The laser is applied to the affected area for anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes at a time. Treatments are usually scheduled a few times a week, and the length of a treatment plan can vary. Cold laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free solution with no adverse side effects.

Cold Laser Therapy at Summit Chiropractic and Longevity Center

Chiropractic care often incorporates many different modes of treatment. By utilizing holistic and non-invasive practices in addition to chiropractic adjustments, chiropractors are able to help patients heal from a myriad of issues, including soft tissue injuries, spasms and illnesses. Cold laser therapy is one common method employed in chiropractic, and at our practice in San Rafael, CA, Dr. Kent Carlomagno can employ this technique to best serve you.

Cold laser therapy is an excellent treatment that is often used to treat a variety of conditions and pains, including injuries from auto accidents or other accidents. It is called a cold laser because the laser operates at a wavelength that will not increase the thermal temperature of the area it is contacting. While patients cannot feel the laser, its effects are incredibly beneficial. The laser interacts with tissue, stimulating biological processes that help in healing, tissue repair, increased blood flow and the reduction of swelling and pain.

Cold laser therapy is an effective treatment for back and neck pain, as well as inflammatory conditions, including arthritis, tendinitis and sprains. It has also been known to help with shoulder and neck injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscle and joint pain and more.

If you are suffering from soft tissue injury or pain, chiropractic methods are non-invasive and do not rely on drugs to reduce your pain. A New Neuropathy Treatment for an Increasingly Common Condition

A New Neuropathy Treatment for an Increasingly Common Condition
A number of patients come to me seeking treatment of neuropathy.  Some have been specifically diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, a disease of the peripheral nervous system, while many others describe their experience with a series of symptoms that clearly point to this painful, sometimes inhibiting condition.  Unfortunately, peripheral neuropathy appears to be affecting more and more people, which likely results from growing population of Americans over fifty, the increasing prominence of diabetes, poor diet, excessive use of medication, and exposure to chemicals and pollutants.  Sciatica, immune disorders, various infections, acute alcoholism are among many other factors that play a role in the presence of peripheral neuropathy.  For patients who are suffering from symptoms of this condition, and for those who have either found no success with conventional medicine and medications, and for those who are simply looking for a better more natural solution to alleviate their pain and discomfort, I offer a new neuropathy treatment at Summit Chiropractic and Longevity Center.

My new neuropathy treatment involves no medications. Instead, it is a natural, healthy approach that utilizes many of the wellness and longevity services I offer at my practice.  The goal of this new treatment is to relieve and prevent the painful tingling, burning and shock sensations that most patients will start to feel in their feet, and then gradually, upward, through the rest of their body.  Once this uncomfortable and inhibiting effect is eased, I gradually work with my patient to help them restore their mobility and energy.  I also help them in making dietary, physical and therapeutic changes that can prevent further advancement of peripheral neuropathy’s effects and aid them in achieving an overall natural wellness and renewal that I strive to enable in all my patients.

If you or someone you care about is affected by peripheral neuropathy or similar symptoms, I invite you to reach out to me to see if my new neuropathy treatment and peripheral neuropathy diagnostic tools can help.  To learn more, please view the Neuropathy Program information on my website, or contact me directly at my chiropractic and longevity center in San Rafael, CA. You can call us at 415-721-7520.

Yours in health,

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is a great tool for the treatment of pain and inflammation and is commonly used for those who have suffered an injury through athletic activity. Laser therapy does not involve taking medications in order to cure patients of chronic pain. Dr. Kent Carlomagno has adopted this new technology in order to better treat his patients at our San Rafael, CA practice, Summit Chiropractic and Longevity Center.

This is a non-invasive procedure that uses red and near-infrared light to enhance the body’s natural healing process. The light source is placed in contact with your skin, allowing the light energy to penetrate tissues where it increases circulation and helps restore normal cell function. Before recommending patients utilize cold laser therapy, Dr. Carlomagno will confirm that the issue is pain from a conditions caused by aging, injury or genetics.

This FDA-approved treatment has no known negative side effects. Dr. Carlomagno will locate the exact position, cause, degree and frequency of your pain in order to select the appropriate treatment protocol. When it comes to treating inflammation, arthritis, tendonitis and sprains cold laser treatment is a great non-invasive option. The treatment causes the smaller arteries and lymph vessels of the body increase in size, known as vasodilation. Vasodilation allows the inflammation and swelling to be cleared away from injury sites quickly and effectively.

We recommend cold laser therapy to provide pain relief especially for patients who want to avoid invasive surgery or ineffective drugs. In most cases, patients will need more than one treatment for optimal pain relief. The total number of treatments needed depends on the condition being treated, the severity of the condition, and each patient’s individual response.
