Core Strengthening Exercises to Improve your Posture

A strong core leads to good posture. Good posture is important for the spine, as it connects to the overall health of your body. Summit Chiropractic and Longevity Center of San Rafael, CA takes good posture seriously. Here are some exercises to strengthen your core and help improve your posture.

Leg lifts:

-Lie on your back and point your toes.

-Keep a strong core, with your spine in a neutral position.

-Lift both legs off the ground, and while keeping one near the ground, lift the other until it is perpendicular to the ground.

-As you lower the first leg, raise your other leg.

-Do this ten times for each leg

Side Bend:

-Stand with your feet should-width apart.

-Keep your arms flat against your side.

-Bend sideways, sliding your hand down your leg. Reach down as far as you can.

-Return to the start position and repeat twenty times on each side.

Mountain Climbers:

-Start in plank position.

-Bring your right knee up to your chest, then return to plank position.

-Bring your left knee up to your chest and then return to plank position.

-Keeping switching your legs, quickening as you go so it is like running in place, on the ground.

- Continue for sixty seconds.

Finding a good core strengthening routine to do a couple times per week will produce results faster than you think. Find which exercises you like best and create a routine all your own.
