Benefits of Using Epsom Salt

Epsom salt, named for a bitter saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England, is not like the salt you use at the dinner table. It’s actually a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate that aids in relaxing muscles and loosening stiff joints.


Epsom salts dissolved in warm water – like those in an Epsom salt bath – is easily absorbed through the skin where they immediately go to work inside our bodies. When absorbed through the skin, these salts have the ability to relieve muscle tension, pain, and inflammation in joints. Additionally, they have the ability to alleviate tension headaches and soothe abdominal cramps. Epsom salts may be used topically or taken internally and can be found at your local drugstore.
